Our Team

Greg Butcher, MBA

Greg is an experienced real estate investor, originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma. After graduating with his Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma, he served a distinguished career as a combat engineer officer in the U.S. Marine Corps, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2015 and earning an MBA along the way. Greg’s military career focused heavily on project management, construction planning, leadership, and decision making in crisis environments, and included multiple deployments, including Iraq and Afghanistan.

Greg began investing in single family homes in 2006, but didn’t find them scalable. His “aha!” moment was learning about the power of syndications and the scalability of multifamily real estate (i.e., apartments). While preparing to retire from active duty in 2015, he joined Brad Sumrok’s Apartment Investor Mastery program, a leading national multifamily educational and mentoring program. This gave him the education and network to begin investing passively in multifamily real estate syndications, and then to sponsor them, to create financial and time freedom for him and his family.

Greg is constantly striving to learn more about the world of commercial real estate syndications and asset management from mentors and peers. He is a co-organizer of the National Apartment Investors Community (NAiC) San Diego Meetup group so he can share his passion and help others get their start too. Greg and his family live just North of San Diego, California, and his adult daughter, Kasey, lives in Southeastern Wisconsin. He enjoys running, hiking, the beach, skydiving, motorcycle riding, and hanging out with his wife and dogs.

Tina Butcher

Kristina (Tina) Butcher is originally from Torrance, California. After living in and traveling to different parts of North America after high school, she settled in the San Francisco Bay area to work and raise her daughters. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the California State University at Hayward in 2004 while working full time and being a single parent. Both before and after that, her primary career has been in accounting and bookkeeping for small to medium sized businesses. She also owned and operated her own catering company for a time. In 2016, once her daughters graduated high school, she followed her desire to get “back to the beach” and moved back to Southern California. Less than a year later, she met Greg.

Greg had already begun sponsoring multifamily real estate syndications when they became a couple. Tina quickly recognized the opportunity it offered not only to them, but – as a former single working mother – to a variety of people concerned with growing their wealth and planning for retirement while handling life’s challenges. Therefore, in 2017 she joined Greg in Brad Sumrok’s Apartment Investor Mastery program and began working with Greg, helping with asset management, underwriting, and financials. She also helps operate the Apartment Investor Mastery – San Diego County and Multifamily Investor Nation – San Diego Meetup groups to network and share knowledge with others. Tina’s adult daughters, Madison and Monique, live near San Diego and the Bay area, respectively. In addition to real estate, her passions include cooking, party planning, family, her dogs, and the beach.

Our Advisors

Brad Sumrok, CCIM

Since 2005, Brad has personally helped his students purchase over 2 billion dollars in apartment complexes, involving thousands of investors who have taken his training. Many of Brad’s students began with zero previous investing experience and, within a few short years, hundreds of students have retired and/or increased their net worth by over $1 million. Even more are earning double-digit average annualized returns!

Brad’s first investment EVER was in 2002. He started with a 32-unit apartment complex, and by 2005, he retired from his six-figure income job. Over the years, Brad has owned over 4,500 units in 8 U.S. Markets. He and his wife Jen earn 7-figures annually from their investments and have, in turn, significantly reduced their taxes.

Brad and Jen love to spend time with friends and family and love traveling internationally. They are also passionate about charity and, along with their students, have contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to various charities. They have a goal to contribute over $1 million to charity.

Their mission is to help as many people as possible achieve financial freedom by investing in apartments and following Brad’s 17-year proven process. Brad wants them to be able to enjoy the same quality of life that he and Jen are so fortunate to have.

Julie Lam

Julie Lam, co-founder and CEO of Goodegg Investments, has been investing in real estate since 2009. During that time, she has focused mostly on buy-and-hold rentals, private lending, passive investing through real estate syndications, and active multifamily investing. She has focused on implementing strategic methods to grow her wealth using various alternative investment strategies that have allowed her to leverage money and time so that she can spend more time with her 3 children.

Julie is a co-creator of the online courses Real Estate Accelerator and Passive Real Estate Investor Academy, co-host of the Investing For Good podcast, and co-author of the book Investing For Good: How To Build Wealth While Also Making An Impact.

Prior to transitioning full time to real estate, Julie most recently spent over 7 years working in Silicon Valley at one of the most prestigious law firms in the world. She received her B.A. in Technical and Professional Writing from San Francisco State University and also attended law school in San Francisco, CA.

Annie Dickerson

Annie Dickerson, co-founder and Chief Creative Officer at Goodegg Investments, has invested in multifamily real estate since 2008. Her current portfolio spans multiple markets around the country and includes both active and passive investments. Annie specializes in strategic brand initiatives, investor education, and marketing.

Annie is a co-creator of the online courses Real Estate Accelerator and Passive Real Estate Investor Academy, co-host of the Investing For Good podcast, and co-author of the book Investing For Good: How To Build Wealth While Also Making An Impact. Annie graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and currently lives in Oakland, CA, with her husband and two boys.
